The UN Women Executive Board will convene for its annual session from Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 June 2025 at United Nations Headquarters in New York (Conference Room 2).
The President of the Executive Board, H.E. Ms. Nicola Clase, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations, will open the Session on 17 June at 10am EDT, together with the UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous, who will deliver her opening statement.
Over the three days, the Executive Board will receive briefings on:
- the draft Strategic Plan 2026-2029 and
- the draft integrated budget estimates of UN Women for the biennium 2026-2027.
The Board will consider reports of the Executive Director of UN Women on:
- the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2022-2025,
- the ethics function in 2024,
- the evaluation function of UN Women in 2024,
- the corporate evaluation of UN Women's support to women's participation in peace processes,
- the internal audit and investigation activities for 2024,
- the report of the Advisory Committee on Oversight for 2024, and
- UN Women's related management responses.
The Board will further receive a briefing on policy and programme matters, including on UN Women's operational activities in Europe and Central Asia, as well as updates on:
- the implementation of General Assembly resolution 72/279 on the repositioning of the United Nations Development System;
- anti-racism;
- progress of the Joint Inspection Unit review of governance and oversight of the Executive Boards of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS, UNICEF, and UN Women; and
- UN Women's policies and procedures to tackle sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment.
