Close to 25,000 people attended Georges River Council's fifth Uncontained Arts Festival from Friday 27 June to Sunday 29 June 2025.
Proudly supported by Major Sponsor Optus, and Event Sponsors Sydney Water and VJB Group the Festival has become a key event on South Sydney's cultural calendar. Over three days, Belgrave Street in Kogarah was transformed into a dynamic space filled with creativity, performance, and community connection.
Transcending a traditional gallery experience, it incorporated a rich blend of installations, interactive art experiences and captivating light displays.
Delicious food and beverage options were also available to the crowds, including Middle Eastern cuisine from Teta's Pitta, sweet treats from Puff Palace, and the popular chip on a stick from 4abang.
Crowd favourites included 'King Kogarah Bin Chicken Rave' by Chrissy Lou and EARWORM, a glowing inflatable that lit up the night with humour and flair; ENTANGLED by DEEJ, an immersive light and sound experience; and Tower Divas by Corrina Bonshek and collaborators, a moving performance blending ritual and sound healing.
Georges River Mayor Elise Borg said, "The Uncontained Arts Festival is a wonderful celebration of creativity and community coming together. It's inspiring to see how this event transforms our streets into a vibrant playground of art, light, and performance that invites everyone to explore and connect.
"Each year the Festival grows stronger, bringing fresh energy and new voices to Georges River. I'm proud that we continue to support a platform where artists can surprise us, challenge norms, and engage people in meaningful experiences."
"Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the Festival, and to the talented artists and volunteers who made it possible.
