Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin Kahl concluded a successful trip to California, where he engaged with several leading industry executives and personnel, and met with scientists and engineering experts at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, May 23-26. In the context of our National Defense Strategy and efforts to build enduring advantages, the visit underscored the crucial importance of emerging capabilities, the U.S. space architecture, and the imperative of defense and industry collaboration.

During his series of meetings with researchers, thought leaders, chief executive officers, and defense personnel, Dr. Kahl delved into the groundbreaking work taking place in the Golden State, including advanced technology developments in autonomy, artificial intelligence, energetics, biotechnology, and resilient space capabilities.
