Underground electrical works commence in Ballina Street, Lennox Head

Ballina Shire Council's contractors will commence installation of the new underground electrical network in Ballina Street, Lennox Head, from Tuesday 9 November 2021 as part of the Lennox Village Vision project.

The following changes will be in place this week:

  • Car parking in Ballina Street will be reduced. Council encourages local residents and visitors to use alternative parking and walk to Ballina Street.
  • Traffic control will be in place to direct motorists via one-lane through the works as needed. Council encourages motorists to use Park Lane as an alternative route where possible.
  • The footpath on the eastern side of Ballina Street, between Ross Park and Lennox Park, will be closed for the duration of these works.
  • Vehicle and pedestrian access to properties between Lennox Park and Ross Park may be restricted at times. Impacted residents and managing agents will be advised of any temporary restrictions.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the community for their patience during these works.

Stage 1 of the Lennox Village Vision project is progressing well, with underboring and installation of new drinking water mains continuing, and the installation of new stormwater pipes and gross pollution traps in Ross Park and Lennox Park nearing completion.

Ross Park is now temporarily closed until early December while works are carried out for the park upgrade. Adjoining carparks in Rayner Lane and Ballina Street are unavailable during the temporary closure.
