The latest Good Universities Guide has once again crowned the University of the Sunshine Coast as having the best "overall education experience" of any public university in Queensland.

It's the fourth consecutive year UniSC has topped the state for student satisfaction.

UniSC Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Helen Bartlett, said UniSC led all public universities across Australia on multiple metrics.

"Our engineering and technology programs were ranked top in Australia for employment outcomes, meaning graduates were employed soon after completing their degree," Professor Bartlett said.

"We also led the nation's public universities across different metrics over ten study fields: Education and training, engineering and technology, health services and support, business and management, computing and information systems, communications, creative arts, rehabilitation, science and mathematics, as well as agriculture and environmental studies."

UniSC was also awarded five stars for social equity, learning resources, skills development, student support, teaching quality as well as overall experience.

"UniSC has received five stars for teaching quality every year since 2006 and has been awarded 14 consecutive five stars for overall educational experience," Professor Bartlett said.

"As we head towards our 30-year anniversary next year, this proves how far we have come in such a short time to be performing so well alongside older and more established institutions nationally."

The Good Universities Guide is heavily based on data from the Student Satisfaction Survey as well as the Graduate Outcomes Survey and Employer Satisfaction Survey, and UniSC achieved some very high ratings across these surveys. More here .

100% employment result for Engineering and Tech

UniSC Engineering Lead Dr Adrian McCallum said a focus on creating confident graduates was the key to successful full-time employment.

"We seek to produce graduates who are technically capable, but who also have confidence in themselves and their future and can assertively hit the ground running upon graduation," Dr McCallum said.

"We achieve this by exposing our students to industry demands and the evolving sector, while they are learning in contemporary teaching spaces and receiving individualised support.

"This happens from the first semester of their first year when we provide opportunities to meet and engage with industry representatives, not in a lecture theatre but onsite, amid the dust, plans, complexity, and reality of professional engineering."

"And we continue this throughout the degree, so students build their confidence in regular industry engagement and through international exposure."
