UNRWA's Teachers of Hate - Hillel Neuer on i24 TV News

UN Watch

Ahead of a funding conference for UNRWA, where countries pledged millions of dollars, UN Watch released a report that found educators from the agency were promoting violence and antisemitism online, including calling for the killing of Jews.

In its new 42-page report, UN Watch exposes antisemitism and incitement to terrorism propagated recently by 10 UNRWA teachers and other employees. This is in addition to more than 100 UNRWA educators and staff previously exposed.

The report cites over 20 new examples of UNRWA teachers and staff in the West Bank, Lebanon, and Jordan supporting terrorist groups, violence against Jews and Israelis, and antisemitism on social media.

“We are exposing Facebook posts that show how UNRWA teachers call for the murder of ‘filthy Zionists,’ saying things like ‘slaughter them all’ and ‘not one should be left over,’ and teaching this to students,” UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer told i24NEWS on June 23, 2022.

“Why are democracies paying the United Nations to employ teachers who teach their students to murder Jews?” Neuer asked, referring to UNRWA donors such as the U.S., Germany and the European Union.

Asked whether UN Watch’s findings are being acted upon, Neuer recalled how a previous UN Watch report with similar findings had put pressure on UNRWA, which announced investigations and quietly suspended some staff. Neuer, said, however, that this was not enough, calling it a “slap on the wrist.”

“We know when donor states demand change, they can accomplish something. We want to see teachers of antisemitism fired. UNRWA needs to condemn them. UNRWA needs to make it public, needs to name who they are, and we need to see an independent, impartial investigation into the systematic employment by the United Nations of teachers who incite to terrorism and antisemitism. ” Neuer said.
