UPDATE: Gang Conflict Warrant In Eastern District 27 April

As stated by Detective Inspector Marty James, District Manager Criminal Investigations:

Police continue to be highly visible in the community as the Gang Conflict Warrant remains in place in the Eastern District.

The warrant has been invoked four times in the last 24 hours and 26 times since it was first issued on Thursday 24 April.

Yesterday, a 44 year-old Napier man was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and a set of knuckle dusters were seized.

Additional resources remain in the community as we continue to undertake a range of activities with the aim of suppressing the illegal and dangerous activities of gang members.

We hope our visibility in the community provides reassurance to members of the public who have a right to go about their lives without fear and intimidation.

We thank the public for their ongoing cooperation as we work hard to hold people committing this offending to account.
