Update2: Hit and run incident at Rockhampton

Forensic crash unit officers have charged a man with dangerous driving causing death in relation to an August 2019 fatal hit and run crash in The Range.

It will be alleged the man was the driver of a 2005 purple Ford Falcon that hit a pedestrian on Archer Street around 8:20pm on August 17.

The vehicle failed to stop and was located the following day in Harvey Street in Port Curtis.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Depot Hill man, died on August 18.

A member of the public contacted police in May of this year which lead to the charging of a man yesterday.

A 37-year-old Etna Creek man has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on August 2.

Investigators continue to appeal for anyone who can provide information in relation to the vehicle or crash to contact police.
