U.S.-Algeria Strategic Dialogue

Yesterday, the Department of State hosted the sixth U.S.-Algeria Strategic Dialogue, chaired by United States Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Barbara A. Leaf and Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Lounes Magramane in Washington. They were accompanied by senior officials from the United States and Algeria, including from the Departments of Commerce, Defense, Labor, Treasury, USAID, and USTR. The United States and Algeria reviewed their close and productive partnership and discussed shared regional and global priorities for future U.S.-Algerian cooperation.

During the dialogue, Assistant Secretary Leaf and Secretary General Magramane underscored a commitment to deepening the strong, historic partnership between the United States and Algeria. The United States and Algeria anticipate continued consultations on the topics and agenda items discussed during the dialogue.
