USAID Deputy Adams-Allen Heads to Philippines

From March 18-22, Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen will travel to the Philippines to advance shared development priorities that promote a resilient and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

During her trip, Deputy Administrator Adams-Allen will engage with local and national government officials, civil society leaders, and the private sector to reinforce the U.S. government's commitments to the people of the Philippines. The Deputy Administrator will reaffirm USAID's integral role in supporting the Philippines to address ocean pollution, and empower vulnerable populations through inclusive development efforts focused on women and girls, out of school youth, and children with disabilities. The Deputy Administrator will emphasize the United States' long standing commitment to support the Philippines in strengthening health systems to combat tuberculosis. She will reinforce USAID's strong partnership and collaboration with Philippines first responders to natural disasters.

The Deputy Administrator will also meet with USAID staff to discuss the Agency's internal reform agenda, which includes, partnering with more local organizations, supporting our Mission staff, and reducing bureaucratic burdens - both internally and for organizations wanting to work with USAID.
