Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with the United Kingdom's Minister of State for Development and Africa Andrew Mitchell. Administrator Power and Minister Mitchell discussed ongoing U.S. and British efforts to address the dire food insecurity situation in Ethiopia. Administrator Power welcomed the United Kingdom's recent announcement of £100 million in new funding for addressing the humanitarian crisis. As the largest donor of humanitarian assistance to Ethiopia, Administrator Power underscored that the United States is committed to continuing to work closely with our partners, other donors, and the humanitarian community to meet immediate food and nutrition needs in Ethiopia.
