USC Deal: Year's worth of free sports for new UvA bachelor students

Students who start on a bachelor's programme at the UvA in the upcoming academic year can play sports for free at the USC for a year. They will receive a passe-partout membership, meaning that they can exercise and take sports lessons for free during their first year at the UvA.

This year, as always, there are many new students commencing on bachelor's programmes at the university. The UvA believes it is important that new students get off to a good start at the UvA and in Amsterdam, especially in these times when corona is limiting the spaces that are available for meeting up. In addition, the health of students is an important point of attention. The UvA hopes the USC Deal will give all first-year bachelor's students a sporty and social boost to the start of their student life in Amsterdam. First-year bachelor's students will receive an email with a unique voucher in the first week of September.

With their free passe-partout memberships, students will be able to visit the USC seven days a week and exercise as often as they want. They can train freely in one of the four fitness facilities, go bouldering and take group lessons in, among other things, martial arts, basketball or yoga. The full range of activities can be found on the USC website.

Sports during corona

In addition to the open air options, sports lessons have also been held indoors since 1 July. The fitness rooms have also been reopened. All sports are possible, but with a limited number of participants per lesson or per hour, and participants must book in advance.
