Vehicle stop; drugs seized at Oxley

A man has been charged after a vehicle stop in the state's north-east last month.

About 12.35am on Wednesday 23 September 2020, officers attached to Western Region Enforcement Squad and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a white Mitsubishi Pajero on the New England Highway, Timbumburi, approximately 16km east of Tamworth.

After speaking with the driver, officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located and seized 10.5g of methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The methylamphetamine has an estimated potential street value of $10,500.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on Cole Road, Tamworth about 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 13 October 2020).

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug - indictable quantity and possess prohibited drug.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 2 November 2020.

Investigations are continuing.
