Victoria Announces Squad For Clashes Against WA

Victoria has named its 13-player squad for next week's Women's National Cricket League fixtures against Western Australia, with matches to be played at Jubilee Park in Ringwood on Monday and Wednesday.

The Victorians return to home soil looking to build on positive strides made against South Australia last round, with a youthful squad set to embrace the opportunity created by several Australian representatives preparing for the upcoming India series.

With Sophie Molineux, Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth and Georgia Wareham linking with the national squad, opportunities have opened up for emerging members of Victoria's program to step up at the back end of the season.

Milly Illingworth returns to the squad following her Women's Premier League experience and is eager to contribute for Victoria, while Ira Aery retains her place after an impressive debut against South Australia.

Andy Christie resumes his role as Head Coach for the round and said the group is energised heading into the contest with WA.

"We made some really positive strides against South Australia and the group has taken a lot of confidence out of that performance," Christie said.

"There's great energy around the squad. The players are excited for the opportunity to perform at the exceptional Ringwood facilities and to continue building consistency in our game.

"With a number of Australian players preparing for the India series, it's a great chance for others to step up and show what they're capable of at this level."

Victoria will face Western Australia at Jubilee Park in Ringwood on Monday and Wednesday, with both matches beginning at 10:00am AEDT.
