Victoria University Reimagines Open Day

Victoria University

In a first for the University, VU is introducing Career Concierge, a one-stop-shop to guide future students on their course and career options, tips on navigating final school exams, giving your skills a CV glow-up and more.

Future students will also be able to step into the virtual shoes of VU's trade, nursing and paramedicine students through another innovation for VU's Open Day, a brand new 360-degree simulation immersion. They'll see how our students learn and are equipped with the hard skills in VU's cutting edge training facilities.

With a record number of employer partners also in attendance, this year's Open Day will focus on VU's industry connections and employment opportunities.

Chief Marketing Officer David Llewellyn said the University saw more than 3000 prospective students and their families at Footscray Park yesterday and more are expected to attend Open Day at City Tower on 24 August.

"VU is driven by innovation and committed to giving every student a unique experience that sets them apart. As one of only two universities in Victoria to see an increase in student enrolments this year, we are working hard to make sure our courses are not only industry aligned, but industry leading," Mr Llewellyn said.

Trades, teaching, allied health, beauty and caring professions are all expected to play continuing and significant roles in the future, not to mention IT, cyber security, law and business. Our Open Days will provide a unique look at these sectors, along with the many other TAFE and higher education courses we offer. It's also a great opportunity to find out more information about our number one ranked student experience and the wraparound services we provide."

The unique and award-winning VU Block Model will be on show - a teaching approach offering one subject at a time, in small classes across four-week with regular feedback. VU was the only university in Australia and remains the largest outside North America to offer this education model.

"VU celebrates every student and we're proud that almost 50 per cent of our cohort are first in family. We welcome the chance to meet all interested future students at both of our 2025 Open Days," Mr Llewellyn said.
