The AFP intercepted the vehicle in Morley in February, 2024, and located about 500 grams of methamphetamine and $5000 cash.

A Ballajura woman, 44, previously pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking a marketable quantity of a border-controlled drug, namely methamphetamine, contrary to section 302.3 of the Criminal Code (Cth).

She was sentenced to five years' and two months' imprisonment and will be eligible for parole after serving three years.

A Ballajura man, 28, previously pleaded guilty to:

  • One count of failure to comply with an order obtained under section 3LA(2) of the Crimes Act 1914 (Cth); and
  • One count of attempted destruction of evidence, contrary to section 11.1 of the Criminal Code (Cth) and section 39 of Crimes Act 1914 (Cth).

He was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, to be released on a recognisance order after 12 months, to be of good behaviour for two years.

Quotes attributable to AFP Inspector Matt Taylor:

"The message is really clear, our investigators will find you, confiscate your drugs and cash, and place you before the court."
