A man and woman have been extradited from Western Australia after being arrested on warrants relating to alleged domestic violence, drug and firearms offences.
On Thursday 12 September 2024, officers attached to the Police Transport Command Proactive Crime Team Southwest executed a search warrant at a unit on Grevillea Crescent, Prestons, where they allegedly seized prohibited drugs, firearms and prohibited weapons.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where she was charged with 18 offences, and refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Friday 13 September 2024.
She was later granted conditional bail and the matter remained before the courts until the woman – now aged 21 –failed to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 12 February 2026.
A warrant was issued by the court for her arrest, and police commenced inquiries to locate her.
On Tuesday 10 February 2026, police commenced an investigation following reports a 39-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a woman – who was known to him – and forced her into a vehicle at Liverpool Railway Station.
The man could not be located a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Wednesday 1 April 2026, NSW police were notified that the 39-year-old man and 21-year-old woman had been arrested together in Western Australia on unrelated matters.
Officers from Police Transport Command applied for extraditions orders, which were facilitated by Western Australia Police Force at the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court and subsequently granted. The officers then travelled to Perth, where they took custody of both the man and woman from Western Australia Police Force.
Today (Monday 6 April 2026), the man and woman were transported to Mascot Police Station where both warrants were executed.
They are due to appear in Bail Division Court 7 today (Tuesday 7 April 2026).
