War medals found among stolen property

Police have found World War I and II medals among other stolen property and are trying to track down the owners.

A 33-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested by Northern District CIB detectives after an alleged crime spree across the metropolitan area and Barossa. Detectives believe the pair are linked to at least 30 break-ins and thefts from cars in recent weeks.

Detectives were working through linking the recovered property with crime reports when they came across these medals, which don't match any recent thefts.

The medals belong to a Private in the 3rd Light Horse Regiment, originally from Orroroo. Police have been unable to track any living relatives and ask anyone who is missing these medals to contact police. The owner will be able to provide detectives with the name engraved on the medals.

The rightful owner can provide their details via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
