Police have charged a man and a woman with over 50 offences including the unlawful possession of firearms and dangerous drugs.
It will be alleged around 5pm yesterday, 17 August, officers from Boondall Tactical Crime Squad observed a grey Mazda 3 bearing a false Victorian registration plate at a shopping centre off Gympie Road, Aspley.
A short time later, officers located the two occupants of the vehicle, a 21-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Deception Bay.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle, where they located approximately 166 grams of Methylamphetamine, a homemade taser and a knife.
Several false numberplates were also located inside the vehicle, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Further enquiries also identified that the Mazda had been reported stolen from a Springwood address on 19 May.
The man and the woman were taken into custody at the scene, with both wanted on multiple warrants by Brisbane City Tactical Crime Squad, in relation to possession of firearms, dangerous drugs and other offences.
The 27-year-old man was charged with 33 offences including three counts of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon and possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than schedule 4, as well as one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels – use in company, stealing, possession of a knife in a public place, as well as other offences.
The 21-year-old woman was charged with 24 offences, including three counts of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon, two counts of fraud – dishonest application of property of another and possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than schedule 4 and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels – use, possession of a knife in a public place, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence SPER Susp (Qld Lic), as well as other offences.
Both are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court, today, 18 August.
