Western Australia Covid update as at 30 August 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 1,277 new cases to 4pm last night. There are currently 7,274 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest figures from overnight show, there were 234 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 5 in ICU.

Sadly, today's report includes one death, dating back to 27 August, which was reported to WA Health yesterday – a man in his 60s.

Of the 1,277 cases, 289 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 988 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 4,071 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,128,199 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
