Western Ring Road collision

Sunshine police are appealing for witnesses after two cars collided on the Western Ring Road in Sunshine Monday afternoon.

Police have been told the two vehicles were seen racing inbound on the Western Ring Road, just south of Ballarat road, prior to the collision about 5pm.

It appears one of the cars, a white Mercedes, lost control before the other vehicle, a white Audi, collided into another vehicle.

The driver of the Mercedes ran from the scene and jumped into another vehicle before returning to the scene.

Both 19-year-old male drivers were arrested by police.

They have been interviewed for drive in a manner dangerous, reckless conduct endangering life and other driving offences.

It was also reported that the drivers were filming on their phones at the time.

Police are interested in speaking with motorists who were in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the incident and who have dashcam footage.
