Detectives from Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Dandenong South last month.

It's believed the drivers of a truck and a white Toyota Kluger, who were both driving their vehicles on Abbots Road, before involved in a road-rage incident with each other on Monday 31 May just before 11pm.

The truck driver, a 49-year-old Nyora man, sustained a stab wound to the hand and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was last seen driving west on Abbotts Road.

Police have released a face image of a man they would like to speak to who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

They have also released an image of a Toyota Kluger similar to the one involved in this incident.
