Working towards inclusive Bayside

We have been working hard to raise awareness ahead of the International Day of People with Disability on December 3.

The day aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities and is an opportunity to help make positive changes in the lives of Australians with disabilities.

Over 14,000 people living in Bayside have a disability and over 4,000 people need assistance in their day-to-day lives.

To celebrate International Day of People with Disability, we provided the opportunity for community members of all abilities to come and try inclusive sports activities. It was great to have representation from a wide range of community organisations and sporting clubs coming together to promote inclusive activities and the support they provide to people of all abilities.

Some of the key highlights of our Everybody Moves event included the Melbourne Stars cricket truck, netball drill with Sandringham & District Netball Association, and a footy clinic by St Kilda Football Club.
