Wyndham Delivers Major Infrastructure

It's been a big year for capital works in Wyndham, with upgraded roads, a new community centre, sports facility upgrades, new and improved open spaces and playgrounds transforming how residents live, play and connect.

Among the highlights for 2024/25 is the opening of the new $13.7 million Lollypop Creek Community Centre, delivering three and four-year-old kindergarten, maternal child health and community spaces for Werribee families.

Wyndham City also completed stage one of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion in Point Cook, including an expanded kindergarten outdoor play area, new maternal and child health consulting rooms, new multipurpose meeting spaces and more.

Wyndham's roads have also received a major boost, with $8.5 million invested in the Road Reconstruction Program and an additional $3 million in asphalt resurfacing, ensuring smoother and safer journeys across our City.

Other project highlights include health club upgrades at AquaPulse and Eagle Stadium, three new dog off-leash parks, tennis court redevelopments at Wootten Road Reserve and Galvin Park, and several open space upgrades, including The Strand Park, Cambridge Crescent Park, Pierbrook Avenue Park and more.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said there were also several projects that remained ongoing or close to completion.

"Work is well underway on new active open spaces at Fortitude Drive Reserve and Polly Parade Reserve, upgrades to Manor Lakes North Reserve and Wyndham Vale North Reserve and the Little River road upgrades," Cr Shaw said.

"We're also busy putting the finishing touches on the $10 million Wyndham Cultural Centre redevelopment, which will re-open its doors in July with an incredible line-up of shows for all ages and tastes."

"In Werribee South, the stunning transformation of the iconic K Roads Cliffs is almost complete, featuring a new cliff-top walking path, viewing platforms, a staircase leading down to the river, interpretive signage, and drainage works."

"Meanwhile, construction is about to begin on two major road upgrades at the Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection, and K Road between Duncans Road and K Road Cliffs."

"Another big-ticket item will be the completion of stage two of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion in Point Cook, which will deliver a new indoor multisport sports venue, netball pavilion with two new netball courts, landscaping, and a new playground with supporting amenities."

"As our population continues to grow at a record pace, delivering new infrastructure and renewing ageing assets is more important than ever - and we're proud to have delivered a range of city-shaping projects over the past 12 months that responds to these needs in a rate-capped environment."

"I hope our community is proud of the multi-million projects and services we continue to deliver each year, and we look forward to delivering more in the 2025-26 financial year."
