OSCE

A Training of Trainers (ToT) on the "Youth, Peace and Security" (YPS) agenda was held in Bishkek from 17 to 20 May 2026 with the support of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Programme Office in Bishkek.

The training brought together young activists, representatives of youth advisory councils, leaders of youth and non-governmental organizations, volunteers, student community representatives, youth specialists from local self-government bodies, and participants of civic engagement, leadership, and peacebuilding programmes from across Kyrgyzstan.

The event aimed to strengthen the capacities of youth leaders to promote the Youth, Peace and Security agenda and prepare qualified trainers to conduct educational activities in the regions within the framework of the implementation of the Action Plan on United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 "Youth, Peace and Security" for 2025-2027.

Over the course of the training, participants explored the foundations of the Youth, Peace and Security agenda, including United Nations Security Council Resolutions 2250 and 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. Sessions focused on youth participation in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, gender and peacebuilding, facilitation techniques, and the development of regional training initiatives.

The programme combined mini-lectures, interactive discussions, practical exercises, role-playing activities, and group work. Participants also developed their own training modules and regional action plans aimed at promoting peacebuilding, civic engagement, and sustainable development through youth participation.

Special attention was given to the role of youth initiatives and entrepreneurship in strengthening social cohesion and advancing peace and security at the community level.

As a result of the training, participants strengthened their facilitation, leadership, and communication skills and prepared for conducting follow-up awareness-raising and educational activities in their respective regions.

The training contributed to strengthening youth participation in peacebuilding processes and supporting the implementation of international commitments related to the Youth, Peace and Security agenda in Kyrgyzstan.
