Dr. HUANG Chongwen, a professor at the Zhejiang University College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering (ISEE), was honored the 16th IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award by the IEEE Communications Society.

As the highest honor for young researchers under the age of 35 in the field of information and communication in the region, the Award celebrates Dr. Huang's contribution to the 6G wireless communication network enabled by the Intelligent Super Surface (RIS).

"I am so deeply honored and humbled to become an IEEE Marconi prize recipient. The honor is particularly meaningful to my research group at this moment when our 5G and beyond communications technologies are enabling our universities, companies, and the entire social ecosystem to function better as well as calling attention to the critical importance of digital inclusion. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to my collaborators. Without their endeavors, we could not win this prize," said Dr. Huang.

Dr. Huang focuses his research on intelligent super-surface-enabled wireless communication technology, holographic wireless communication and AI-enabled intelligent wireless communication. He has published more than 50 academic papers, one of which has been cited more than 920 times within 26 months (Google Scholar), three ESI hot papers, and five ESI highly cited papers. He has served as the editorial board of six international flagship journals, including IEEE Communication Letter, Elsevier Signal Processing, EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, Physical Communication, etc., and the guest editor of IEEE Wireless Communication Magazine. At the same time, he has also served as the thematic chairperson of 2021 IEEE WCNC, 2021 IEEE VTC-Fall, 2021 IEEE WCSP and other international flagship conferences.

Since joining ISEE in Sept. 2020, Dr. Huang not only has also won the IEEE Communications Society Marconi Paper Award, one of the highest academic awards in the field of international wireless communications, but also won the 2021 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award.
