About 3.40pm, a grey 2013 Volkswagen Jetta and a grey 2012 Holden Commodore were involved in a collision on Indian Ocean Drive.
The 34-year-old male driver of the Holden sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
The 28-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen Jetta died from his injuries at Dongara Hospital.
