- Applications now open for a share of $2 million in Veterans Facilities Fund grants
- Grants of up to $200,000 available for facility and memorial upgrades
- Ensuring Western Australians have access to the infrastructure and services they need
The Cook Government is delivering on its election commitment to support veterans and their families through the new 2025-26 Veterans Facilities Fund (VFF).
Administered by Defence West, the grant is open to Ex-Service Organisations (ESO) to fund renovations, repairs, and other improvements to ageing facilities and memorial sites.
Many of these buildings are part of the State's history and a public reminder of the sacrifice made by previous generations. $200,000 as part of the VFF is already earmarked for upgrades at the Bullsbrook RSL.
An ESO is an independent, not-for-profit organisation supporting current or former Australian Defence Force members and their families. They play an important role in assisting WA's veterans' community through recognition, commemoration, and social activities.
Application for the VFF grant is a competitive process and forms part of a two-year $4 million pilot program supporting infrastructure needs of ESOs.
Eligible submissions will be assessed by an independent panel based on merit, project outcomes, alignment with the grant objectives, and project financial viability.

As stated by Defence Industries Minister Paul Papalia:
"The Cook Government recognises the significant contribution Ex-Service Organisations make to the lives of returned service personnel and their families.
"The Veterans Facilities Fund will enable the WA veterans' community to meet, celebrate, and commemorate at fit-for-use facilities and memorial sites, and support community education by preserving Australia's wartime heritage."
