- Cook Labor Government announces funding for 34 Aboriginal organisations in regional WA
- 1,400 on-Country jobs created since the program started in 2017
- Program continues to deliver strong environmental, cultural and community outcomes
Successful applicants in Round 9 of the Aboriginal Ranger Program have been announced, demonstrating the Cook Labor Government's strong support for Aboriginal ranger organisations across the State.
Round 9's three funding streams are:
- Prepare - supporting Aboriginal organisations to undergo ranger-specific planning and preparation activities;
- Activate - helping new ranger groups get started on Country; and
- Sustain - continuing support for established ranger programs.
Since it began in 2017, the Aboriginal Ranger Program has supported employment on Country for more than 1,400 Aboriginal people.
To date, the Cook Labor Government has committed a total of $176.5 million to support Aboriginalled land and sea management jobs in communities across the State.

As stated by the Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn:

"Supporting ranger groups across varying stages of their development ensures investment is targeted and effective, supporting Aboriginal communities wherever they are on their ranger journey while building capability for longterm success."
