Albury Wodonga Waterski Club Hosts Aussie-Kiwi Challenge

In a major coup for the ski club we have won the right to have the New Zealand Under 21 Team visit the Border for an outright challenge with the Australian Team next weekend 16-19th March.

Both teams will have 24 skiers ranging from under 14 to Under 21 age groups.

Most skiers will compete the week before at the prestigious Moomba Masters in Melbourne and then travel to the Border on Tuesday 14th March.

Skiers will compete in slalom, trick and jump. Many will have International rankings and world event experience with several competing in Chile at the Junior World Championships last month.

Local Border skiers to feature strongly are Lara and Lachy Butlin from Albury, Erica and Laura Hayes Deniliquin, Callan Ashcroft from Wagga, Lane and William Moroney along with Milla Bennett from Shepparton.

Training for teams will be on Tuesday and Wednesday with the competition commencing Thursday 16th through to Sunday 19th.

Public access is free with catering on site.

The event is at the Gateway Lakes, Lincoln Causeway Wodonga.
