All eastbound lanes are closed on Parramatta Road in Ashfield due to serious crash involving a pedestrian west of Frederick Street.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted via Great North Road and can use Fairlight Road, Ramsay Street and Wattle Street to rejoin Parramatta Road.
Two of three westbound lanes are also closed at the crash site.
Traffic is heavy in both directions.
Motorists should avoid area and allow extra travel time.
Emergency services and traffic crews are at the scene.
