Anzac Day will be held across the greater Brisbane region with a large number of people expected to participate at various events throughout the day on Friday, April 25.
The Queensland Police Service expects the commemorations to progress peacefully, with additional police resources available to provide support and direction where required.
Brisbane Police would like to encourage the public to act responsibly when commemorating Anzac Day, respecting the nature of the occasion.
Motorists can expect delays and traffic congestion at inner city road closures but are reminded that times are only indicative, and police will reopen roads once deemed safe.
The following roads will be closed from 2am to 5am for the Dawn Service in Anzac Square:
- Adelaide Street, between Edward Street and Creek Street
- Ann Street, between Edward Street and Creek Street
- Edward Street, between Ann Street and Rowes Lane
- Hutton Lane between Ann Street and Adelaide Street
The following roads will be closed from 4am to 3pm for the Parade:
- Adelaide Street, between North Quay and Wharf Street
- Albert Street, between Adelaide Street and Charlotte Street
- Burnett Lane between George Street and Albert Street
- Charlotte Street, between George Street and Creek Street
- Creek Street, between Ann Street and Elizabeth Street
- Eagle Lane, between Creek Street and Queen Street
- Edward Street, between Ann Street and Charlotte Street
- Elizabeth Street off ramps from the Riverside Expressway
- Elizabeth Street, between William Street and Creek Street
- George Street, between Ann Street and Margaret Street
- Mary Street, between George Street and Albert Street
- North Quay, between Ann Street and Victoria Bridge
- Queen Street, between William Street and Wharf Street
- William Street, between North Quay and Stephens Lane
- Edison Lane, between Creek Street and Elizabeth Street
- Ely, Faber and Griffin Lanes off Adelaide Street
- Stephens Lane, between William Street and George Street
- Hutton Lane, between Adelaide Street and Ann Street
Please note that all road closures are subject to change if required to maintain event safety.
Temporary changes to inner city parking signage will commence from 7pm on Thursday, April 24 and will be reinstated by 11.59pm on Friday, April 25.
The King George Square car park will only be accessible from the Roma Street entry/exit.
