Appeal for assistance after road rage assault in Sydney's west

Police are investigating after a woman punched another woman in the face during a road rage incident in Sydney's west last month.

About 12.15pm on Thursday 23 April 2020, a 57-year-old woman stopped her Toyota Hilux behind a Hyundai Sedan at traffic lights on Jersey Road, Plumpton.

Police have been told a young male passenger got out of the Hyundai and threw a can on the Hilux's bonnet.

The female driver of the Hyundai also got out of the car and punched the Hilux driver in the face through her window.

The 57-year-old woman suffered a cut to her face and was later treated at Mt Druitt Hospital.

The other woman returned to the Hyundai and drove through a red light onto Hyatts Road, towards Rooty Hill.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

They're appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam vision of the incident, to come forward.

The driver of the Hyundai is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 30s or 40s, with blonde hair and a thin build.

At the time, she was wearing a peach-coloured top and grey tracksuit pants.
