Detectives are appealing for dashcam vision as part of an ongoing critical incident investigation into a single-vehicle crash on Sydney's North Shore which seriously injured five people at the weekend.
About 4.40pm on Sunday 13 November 2022, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to West Street at Cammeray after a Holden Commodore left the road and struck a tree.
Police had initiated, then terminated, a pursuit involving the vehicle shortly before the crash occurred.
Two girls, aged 16, and three males – two aged 17 and an 18-year-old – were all rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
All five teenagers remain in hospital. The 18-year-old man remains in a critical condition, while both girls and one of the 17-year-old boys are listed as serious but stable. The other boy is in a stable condition.
A critical incident has been declared and detectives from Blue Mountains Police Area Command have established Strike Force Mulvany to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be subject to independent review.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam vision who were travelling on roads in the vicinity of the crash between 4.30pm and 4.40pm, to come forward.
