The MCA welcomes the appointment of Ms Rebecca Tomkinson to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CMEWA) and I look forward to working with her to progress the sector's advocacy positions at federal and state level.
Ms Tomkinson brings to the role significant experience in working with multiple and diverse stakeholders while CEO of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
As the first female CEO in CMEWA's history, her appointment also demonstrates the mining sector's work in attracting more female participation particularly in leadership positions.
I also wish outgoing CMEWA CEO Mr Paul Everingham all the best, thank him for his collegiality and his leadership, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
