Architect appointed for significant Scarborough school project

  • SITE Architecture Studio Pty Ltd to design $9.7 million facilities at Scarborough Primary School

  • Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today announced SITE Architecture Studio Pty Ltd has been appointed to design new learning spaces at Scarborough Primary School.

    The McGowan Labor Government's $9.7 million redevelopment will include a new roof to existing buildings and construction of a new two-storey teaching block.

    The two-storey teaching block will include kindergarten, pre-primary and general learning area classrooms, as well as toilets, storerooms and staff areas.

    A new fenced kindergarten and pre-primary outdoor play area also forms part of the project, as well as additional parking for staff, visitors and parents.

    The redevelopment will increase the permanent student capacity of the school to 366 students.

    Construction is expected to start in August 2022 with completion due by Term 1, 2024.

    As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

    "These new modern learning areas will mean Scarborough Primary School continues to be a popular choice for local families with young children.

    "I know these fantastic additions will provide students with the best possible opportunities to achieve."

    As stated by Scarborough MLA Stuart Aubrey:

    "I am excited to see one of our significant local election commitments progressing so quickly.

    "Access to high-quality public education is important for our growing community which is why I am proud to be delivering on this commitment. I look forward to visiting the site soon."
