Arrest Made Over Stolen Vehicle in Greater Darwin Region

Northern Territory Police successfully apprehended a 14-year-old male youth in the northern suburbs following a protracted low-speed pursuit this morning.

Patrolling members from Strike Force Trident identified the known youth driving a stolen motor vehicle through the Malak and Karama areas. A tyre deflation device was deployed however, the youth continued to drive the vehicle operating on just one tyre.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop with the assistance of multiple Police units including Dog Operations Unit and members from the Territory Response Group with the sole occupant being arrested at the scene. He remains in custody and expected to be charged later today.

Detective Sergeant Dale Motter-Barnard said, "Our officers are trained to handle complex situations with the utmost skill and care. This operation is a testament to the dedication of the Northern Territory Police in maintaining public safety."
