Arrests made after burglary series

Rapid Apprehension Squad detectives have charged three people after a spate of burglaries across the metropolitan region from 16 to 19 February 2023.

A Toyota Yaris was stolen during a home burglary in Hilton on 16 February 2023 and it will be alleged across Saturday 18 February and Sunday 19 February 2023 the three charged people broke into eight commercial business premises in the suburbs of East Victoria Park, Fremantle, Palmyra, Willagee and Coolbellup.

The charged persons were apprehended in the stolen vehicle in Hamilton Hill about 1.35am on Sunday 19 February 2023 after a brief evade police incident.

A 22-year-old man from Hamilton Hill has been charged with:

• 9 x Aggravated Burglary;

• 6 x Stealing;

• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle & Drive Recklessly;

• 1 x Stealing of a Motor Vehicle;

• 1 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;

• 1 x Fail to Stop; and

• 1 x No Authority to Drive.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 20 February 2023.

A 16-year-old boy from Munster and a 15-year-old boy from South Lake have each been charged with:

• 9 x Aggravated Burglary;

• 1 x Stealing of a Motor Vehicle; and

• 6 x Stealing.

They both appeared in the Perth Children's Court yesterday, 19 February 2023 and are next due to appear in the same court today, 20 February 2023.
