The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) course for instructors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Training Centre from 14 to 16 September 2026. The course focused on three key topics: gender mainstreaming in law enforcement, human rights, and community policing.
The training brought together 12 instructors (2 women and 10 men) from the MIA Training Centre and was delivered by a local expert on community policing, human rights and gender mainstreaming. Through interactive sessions, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills to deliver training on these topics to MIA officers. The course highlighted the importance of integrating rights-based and community-oriented approaches into police work.
Following the completion of the course, the OSCE handed over ICT equipment to the MIA Training Centre during a ceremony held on 17 September 2026. The donation included 20 desktop computers, six projectors with screens and six multifunctional printers. The equipment will help strengthen the Centre's training capacity by supporting the use of digital technologies and interactive learning tools in the classroom.
The training and equipment donation are part of the OSCE's broader efforts to support the professional development of Tajikistan's law enforcement agencies. Through its co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the OSCE continues to promote modern, community-oriented policing practices. It also supports capacity-building among law enforcement personnel in Tajikistan.
