Arts Team Prepares For Bay Pavilions Transition

It's a new era for arts and culture in Eurobodalla, with Council set to take over management of the Bay Pavilions' arts and community facilities from 1 July.

The transition will see Council manage the Yuin Theatre, Clyde Gallery, arts reception area and community rooms, while leisure services including the pool, gym and café will continue to be managed by Aligned Leisure.

Eurobodalla Council's creative arts manager Indi Carmichael said visitors could expect a smooth transition, with familiar faces remaining at the heart of the venue.

"You'll still see all the same theatre and arts faces greeting you at the door and working behind the scenes, plus a few new ones joining the team," Ms Carmichael said.

"We've retained all 18 existing casual arts staff and expanded the team with three new full-time positions focused on promotions and publicity, programming, and visual and public art."

Visitors may have already noticed some physical changes underway in the building, with construction work taking place in the foyer.

"We're installing a new entrance to the arts reception area and creating some additional office space to support the growing team," Ms Carmichael said.

"The aim is to keep the transition as seamless as possible for our community, artists and visitors."

People wanting to purchase tickets to shows can continue using the Bay Pavilions website as usual, with no changes to the booking process.

Council is also working closely with existing hirers, exhibitors and community groups to make sure current bookings and programs continue without disruption.

Ms Carmichael said the team would spend the next six months delivering the existing program of performances, exhibitions and events before taking the lead on future programming from 2027.

Recent changes to Council's fees and charges have also reduced hire costs for the community rooms, with discounts available for eligible groups.
