Ask us anything. Breast cancer

Epworth

Specialist breast cancer surgeon, Dr Chantel Thornton, was drawn to treating the disease because of a prevalent family history, including the loss of a favourite aunt in rural town.

Dr Thornton says with early detection and treatment, a breast cancer diagnosis doesn't mean a death sentence.

Women who receive a breast cancer diagnosis have a range of questions. Dr Thornton answers common questions in the latest episode of the Epworth video series "Ask us Anything."

The episode covers questions such as are all breast lumps breast cancer? What are breast cancer survival rates? What can I do to lower the risk of breast cancer? How do I check my breasts?

Dr Thornton urges women with questions to contact their doctor, rather than rely on information from Dr Google.
