Assistant Defense Secretary meets French Special Ops Commander

Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, Elizabeth Phu, met with French Special Operations Commander (Commandement des Opérations Spéciales), Brigadier General Michel Delpit, on March 8th, 2023. The two leaders affirmed the close bilateral relationship and special operations partnership between the United States and France, and discussed opportunities for continued collaboration on special operations exercises, operations, and training. The United States and France are committed partners and the discussion between the special operations leaders explored areas for increased partnership in the era of strategic competition and integrated deterrence. Both leaders agreed to continue strong collaboration efforts between the two countries and discussed further cooperation in Africa and the Indo-Pacific.
