The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is inviting people across the country to help shape the future of coaching and officiating through a new national survey.
Whether you currently play sport, are a past participant, or are looking to get involved, your input can help inform two new national action plans focused on strengthening coaching and officiating across Australia.
Coaches and officials play a critical role in shaping how sport is experienced across the country. They create welcoming environments, build confidence, support participation and influence whether people stay connected to sport.
Yet attracting, developing and retaining coaches and officials remains a challenge for many sports.
To help address this, the ASC has established dedicated Coaching and Officiating Advisory Groups to guide the development of a Coaching Action Plan and an Officiating Action Plan.
These plans will provide a national approach to better support coaches and officials, ensuring they are equipped to create safe, inclusive and positive sporting environments.
The survey is the first step in a broader national consultation process running until mid-June, aimed at capturing real experiences, identifying common challenges and highlighting opportunities for improvement.
It is open to anyone connected to sport, from players and parents to spectators, volunteers and those working across sporting organisations.
It takes around 20 to 25 minutes to complete, and participants can save their progress and return later using the same device.
Those interested in sharing more can also submit an expression of interest to take part in further consultation activities, which may include online focus groups, one-on-one interviews and observations of coaching and officiating in practice.

The survey will close on Friday 5 June.
