Aviation Safety Data Sharing Platform has lift off

The overall objective of the new Aviation Safety Data Sharing platform is to provide better insights on aviation safety incidents (e.g. 'near misses') and accidents. This will improve safety outcomes for the aviation community and public by informing policy development and regulatory settings.

The platform provides aviation agencies with centralised access to timely and high-quality data, and has been built with security and privacy front of mind. It is only accessible to four government departments and agencies, and agency-specific user access controls are in place to comply with relevant privacy and confidentiality standards.

Built by sector experts, for sector experts, the platform is a showcase of the importance of collaboration between our agencies. By providing the most up-to-date data in a single environment rather than through ad-hoc requests, we are able to improve our own efficiency and reduce administrative burden on the sector.
