Ballajura Crash Investigation

About 7:40pm last night, Friday 13 October 2023, police were called to a crash on Winchester Place, Ballajura.
Information received was that a car had crashed into a house.
Upon arrival at the scene it was confirmed the carport roof of a residence had collapsed onto the vehicle involved in the crash, and damage was also caused to the resident's vehicle and to the house where the carport connects to it.
Western Power and Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended the scene, with DFES State Emergency Service volunteers attending to make the area safe.
It will be alleged the driver of a Holden Commodore - a 27-year-old Ballajura man - was driving the vehicle in a reckless manner when it left the road, struck a letterbox and then continued on and struck a brick carport pillar, causing the carport roof to collapse.
It will be further alleged the driver failed a preliminary breath test, and a subsequent evidentiary breath test.
The 27-year-old man has been advised by Traffic Enforcement Group North officers that he is being charged by summons with Reckless Driving and Excess 0.05%. He will appear in court at a later date.
