Bilingurr / Cable Beach Sexual Assault Charges

Broome Detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident in the Cable Beach / Bilingurr area of Broome on Friday 5 August 2022, in which a woman was sexually assaulted.
About 5:20am the woman, who is aged in her 40's, was jogging in the Bilingurr / Cable Beach area when she approached a man walking in the opposite direction on a track that runs alongside Gubinge Road.
It will be alleged as she approached and they crossed paths, the man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.
Yesterday afternoon, Saturday 6 August 2022, Broome Detectives executed a search warrant at a hotel in Cable Beach and arrested a 52-year-old man who was staying in the area at the time.
The 52-year-old Midland man has been charged with three counts of 'Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent'. He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Sunday 7 August 2022.
