Blinken Discusses Issues with Greek PM Mitsotakis

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The Secretary and the Prime Minister underscored their commitment to deepening the U.S.-Greece bilateral relationship, as well as U.S. support for Greece's defense modernization efforts, in line with NATO interoperability requirements. The Secretary discussed the ongoing situation in the Middle East and affirmed the importance of addressing humanitarian suffering in Gaza. The Secretary reiterated Israel's right to self-defense consistent with international law. The two spoke about their shared goals to advance stability and prosperity in the eastern Mediterranean and beyond. The Secretary thanked Prime Minister Mitsotakis for Greece's continued assistance to Ukraine.
