Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today in New York City with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and United Kingdom Security Minister Tom Tugendhat on the sidelines of the UN Security Council open debate on the situation in the Middle East. The Secretary condemned Hamas for its brutal terrorist attacks, reinforced Israel's right to self-defense, and discussed ongoing intensive efforts to secure the release of hostages and to deliver sustained humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
