A revamp to Colac's Bluewater gym will include an Australian-first for fitness buffs.

The gymnasium will close from Sunday 13 July (at 4pm), re-opening Saturday 19 July (at 8am) for an upgrade of gym equipment and facilities.

Bluewater will become the first gym in Australia to feature the new Matrix Upper-body cycle. The centre will also add an assault runner and a Reformer Pilates space with 10 reformer beds.

The gym will be closed to remove old equipment and install the new pieces. There will be no Group Fitness Classes during this time. The aquatic facilities including the 25m pool, warm water pool, spa and sauna will remain open, along with the stadium.

Gold Members will not be charged for membership during the closure, while Platinum Members will only pay the reduced Aquatic Membership rate.

There will be an official relaunch on Monday 21 July to celebrate the new state of the art equipment.

General Manager of Community and Economy Ian Seuren said the upgrade would ensure the community had access to high-quality amenities.

"This upgrade is more than just new equipment; it's about creating a vibrant, inclusive space where our community can thrive," Mr Seuren said.

"We're excited to bring cutting-edge fitness options to Bluewater, making it a hub for health, wellness and connection," he said.

"Facilities like Bluewater enhance people's quality of life, promote physical activity, provide social opportunities, and contribute to the shire's attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit.

"We understand the short term inconvenience caused by the temporary gym closure, and we appreciate the community's patience during this period.

"We look forward to welcoming you back to the newly upgraded gym space and celebrating the official reopening on 21 July."
