BNPL submissions released

Australian Treasury

As Australians face increasing cost of living pressures, the Albanese government wants to ensure appropriate consumer protections are in place.

That's why the government last year called for submissions about options for the regulation of Buy Now, Pay Later products.

Today we are releasing those submissions.

A total of 77 submissions were made, 16 of them confidential.

The government thanks those who took the time to make their views known.

These submissions are an important foundation for understanding the potential impact of regulatory options.

The government will now consider these views and make further announcements in due course.

The public submissions are available on the Treasury website.
